Lear Score

Putting the finishing touches on the Lear score. My favorite text is from a poem used in the adaptation. It inspired me to bring out the tension between the dream and waking state in the script. Some previews of the recording will be coming soon.

Everything has faded into dreams.

The ship in which you corssed the sea,

lashed at by the lightning flashes,

was a dream from which you still have not awakened.

You live embraced by a dream,

helpless in its viscous web

for all eternity,

unless eternity is but another dream.

Oregon Arts Watch Kabuki Titus Review

‎Oregon Arts Watch loved my latest score too!!!

Composer Tylor Neist and his live ensemble including violin, viola, cello, flute, koto and percussion provide excellent accompaniment, underscoring (literally) the show’s silent-movie feel.

Willamette Week Kabuki Titus Review

Willamette Week also loved my latest score!

Here is what they had to say:

Grounding the 90-minute production is Tylor Neist’s original score. The blend of Japanese and Western musical styles heightens the drama without overpowering the action.
